ABOUT BEN AND LINDSAY
Ben and Lindsay were married on October 13, 2002 in Eugene Oregon. They met as students at Biola University. Ben graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Graphic Design and Lindsay in Violin Performance. Their first date was to BJ's Pizza in Laguna Beach and they were engaged at Hendricks Park in Eugene Oregon four months later. They have settled in La Mirada, CA after living in Whittier, CA and a few other places like Portage, Indiana; and Plainfield, Illinois during Ben's baseball career. Ben and Lindsay have two sons Caleb and Jackson and they like to spend family time playing baseball in the front yard and swinging on swings out back. Lindsay loves home decorating and flowers and Ben likes creative design and sports. They attend Grace EV Free Church in La Mirada and have been Sports Missionaries since 2005! HISTORY OF MINISTRYBen and Lindsay joined Missionary Athletes International, a non-profit Christian soccer ministry, in October of 2005. Ben served as the Director of Creative Media and Director of Camps for the Southern California Seahorses Los Angeles office. Ben has always felt a strong desire to be involved in youth ministry. At age 14 he worked his first soccer camp with the Seahorses, leading a group of 5-6 year olds. While playing professional baseball, Ben founded the "Called Up Baseball Camp" allowing him to share his baseball skills and reach the surrounding community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In January of 2011 Called Up Baseball became an affiliation of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Baseball. Ben will direct a new division of FCA Baseball in Southern California. This is the first division for FCA Baseball on the West Coast. BEN'S BASEBALL CAREERBen began his baseball career at the age of 9 when his parents realized that he and his neighbors started breaking too many car windows out in the front yard. Ben played at La Mirada Little League and La Mirada Pony before his high school years. Ben was named C.I.F. Player of the Year in 1996 at La Mirada H.S. where he helped his team win the Division 3 Championship. He went on to star at Biola University where he was a two time Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year and NAIA All-American. Ben was ace of the 2001 pitching staff that led Biola to is first NAIA World Series birth in school history. He played in the Jayhawk Summer League and the Cap Cod baseball league which is the most prestegious summer league in the United States. After Biola Ben signed a professional contract with the Chicago Cubs in 2001. After playing for the Boise Hawks (Short Season A) and the Daytona Cubs (High A) Ben was released from the organization. Ben pursued baseball for two more seasons playing for the Canton Coyotes (OH.), the Solono Stealheads (CA.), and the Gary Railcats (IN.) Ben retired from baseball in 2003. LINDSAY'S MUSIC CAREER
Lindsay began playing the violin at the age of 6. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Biola University in 2002. Lindsay was concert master for the Biola Chamber Orchestra for two years. Upon graduating she was awarded the Most Outstanding String Musician Award in 2002. She has been trained in String Pedagogy and string literature methods. Lindsay has had a private studio for twelve years. She also taught violin at Whittier Christian Elementary and Pre-school from 2002-08. She teaches the Suzuki Method along with other supplemental materials. She gives recitals every year as well as performance classes with students of similar levels. Lindsay has toured with chamber music groups to Canada, China, and Hong Kong.
